An unwise man

When my husband and I first got engaged, the church we with said they wouldn't support us unless we moved our wedding back. At first, we obliged. After a month or two we both agreed that we felt god wanted us to elope and get married on the origional date.. We informed the church and then called my father... But the church had already called him to inform him of our "horrible decision" and had asked him to talk us out of it. My father would not. He was going to support us no matter what. But the church had already deprived us of asking for my dads blessing in the decision. And they went out to express their disapproval and unsupported of us and our marriage. Not we've been happily married and still after fights do not regret the decision to follow Jesus over one leader in the church. They never did apologize or decide to support us. Today my mother told me I was wrong for thinking that man is unwise. My mom is just as closed minded as he and I there was one thing in this event that I would change it is ever giving that guy the opportunity to Hurt us like he did

:)

I love you Charli

Due to the crazy tempatures or ak and the head on dislike Charli and my husband have for each other, I decided tht no matter how much I love Charli, he would be better in a more loving home. He is now the child of a ten ur old boy named dyl. Not going to lie.... I cried. But the lady was very nice an very comforting. So with the promise o regular updates, I mournfully let him go. Even though he was driving me crazy, I'm having a hard time. I bought Charli wen I lost my first child. He was my one boy and I loved his as so.... But at least he's in a better home

Good bye Charli

Tattoo número 5

I've wanted this tattoo since before my first attempt at mirage. It is just so difficult to find artists that will do finger tattoos little lone on fingers as petite as mine... And if they do they charge 60plus dollars because its a finger tat. I found this artist in an unlikely place and was impressed by his affordable min. It's super small but at least I wasn't robbed for it... And now my ich for it is satisfied.

I was originally going to get a key hole and Steve a key, but I didn't think it looked as good on my finger... I liked "love" but thought it seemed to cliche and oogly... Then I saw the infinity symbol on the Internet and knew tht was what I wanted

On the move again.

Steve has finally got the offer that, i believe, he wanted from day one.  Yay.
The down fall:  it's in alaska.

As you've read and read...  i love fashion.  However, i'm not real sure how to look cute and dress warm (and warm is important seeing as i HATE cold)

I figure there is lots of snow and i love snowboarding so i can just take that look with me :)

Another look you wont see me bashing,  the good rugged lumberjack look:

I never thought lumber jacking or snowboarding would be a style id decide to take on for an everyday look....   guess i should have had a wider idea box.

Leader of the pack

people aren't that much different than dogs... In high school, every click had its leader. Now that we're grown up, every family has its leader . ..... When there's not a leader, we make one. If neither parent leads, the children take control . My family, guess who's running it . Both my dogs are sleeping at my feet and my husband is not the one making the money yet...... But like I said, every pack wants a leader..... And I want mine.  I want my pack leader.... But someone has to lead..... If he won't, I will. I just can't wait for the day for him to win over

beer tasting of the day.

blind tiger, tavern style pale ale
made by barley island brewery in noblesville Indiana
 review by: gmfessen
"3.53/5  rDev +5.1%
look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5
Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, beer is a slightly hazy, golden-orange color with a one-finger, soapy looking head. The smell is of citrus and pine resin hops, not overwhelming and a slight malty background. The taste starts and ends with the same hops from the nose with some malty notes tossed in along the way. There is a residual bitterness about the beer. The mouthfeel is light in body and adequately carbonated. Overall, not a bad offering, nothing too spectacular either though."

*Personal opinion: Defently stronger on the hop than than malt, a little heavier than my preference and maybe not in my top favorite list, but still enjoyable in my book.

newest beer tasting

Beer of the Week: Tommyknocker Brewery’s Hop Strike Black India Pale Ale BY DI STAFF | JULY 07, 2011 7:20 AM The Beer of the Week is Tommyknocker Brewery’s Hop Strike Black India Pale Ale. Brewed in Idaho Springs in the Colorado mountains, the heavily hopped brew is characterized by a dark, heavy body, spicy citrus hops, and chocolate malt flavors. “Black IPA beers are really a new big thing in American craft brewing,” said Joe Hotek, the beer-room manager at John’s Grocery, 401 E. Market St. “They’re a really nice combination of a stout and an IPA.” According to Tommyknocker’s website, Hop Strike uses chinook, summit, and Willamette hops, along with seven varieties of malts to achieve a distinct flavor that also makes a “great first impression on the nose.” And at 7 percent alcohol by volume, the beer is particularly strong. Hotek said Tommyknocker’s Hop Strike Black IPA — like most IPA brews — drinks well on its own, but it can nicely complement any spicier dishes. — by Brian Albert *Very similar to 1554 or my own chocolate beer, it's a dryer, darker beer but with no bitterness. a heavy hint like guiness but with no where near the same weight. My approval: 5 stars. a good relaxing beer, not a getting drunk and drinking all night beer. But since relaxing is my favorite kind of drinking... :)

Lv

Good ol Louis has to be my favorite brand ever. Not too stuffy but still clean and classy with an edge of funtastic

welcome back curly hair.

after going a year without my curly hair, i couldnt stand it anymore... no more straight hair for me :) and i love this too.

I'm just full of updates and changes in life. lol. But i still love all of it.
Now if i could just get that darn house finished i would have a real party :)

since i switched to apple 7 yrs ago..

The main reason for the purchase of my first apple was that i needed a laptop and i wanted something with a long life.... and to this day i still have my first apple laptop. and i still love for...

So of course when my battery went out and i still wanted to take my laptop with me i decided it was time for a new piece of equipment ... hence the ipad.

After realizing how well the two work together i decided that the iphone would eventually happen. However .it took a bit before my phone provider came out with my new want... and at that they were asking 600 for it! ... while i dont mind spending extra for a good thing, i'm not so willing to just go around throwing away money..

So when my husband told me there was a carrier that would sell it to me for 100 and give me better coverage and would give him a free smart phone in the process... i was game.

So i'm officially a mac junky.
I officially have the phone i've been craving.
I officially have internet access at any point (im blogging from work right now.)
and all my product work together :) yay.

.. thats all. i was just excited and wanted to share with you :)

Sara hall

I work with Sara coaching the saluki swim club, but she is also a great fashion inspiration.

Growing up

I remember the first time I tried coffee... Couldn't have Been older than 10. I was sitting a my gmas house and was taking a sip of my milk when, instead of milk, I was drinking her coffee.... And it was disgusting. Now I live for my morning coffee :)

married and painting :)

I've always loved painting... ive always loved being married. What i've realized this past few weeks... the two dont go together very well. My husband and i are both very stuborn.... something i still have yet to learn how to deal with. Hes also a carpenter.... so he likes to "direct" me how to do things.... such as painting :) I dont do very well listening. today, steve is off somewhere else and i have the house to myself.... to paint :) i was almost mad as he was telling me what to paint as he left, but then a great song came on, i did some push ups, and now im in my own zone. I forgot how much i love painting and getting dirty. bathroom is 38 seconds from being done and the i can NOT wait to have all the walls done so the floors can be done... then we can really move in :) absolutely, beemo.

a good day for a limo ride

Last night, i rode in my first limo. The occasion: it was sitting in my neightbors yard, driver in the front seat.... so i took it. My mother (by mother i mean land lord) had people over and so i walked over to join the enjoyment. One of her buddies own a limo service and had randomly decided to take one out. He told us he didn't care if we took it for a ride, so we did. First stop: old rome. As my mother and i climbed out of the limo eyes turned our way. Some people we knew, some we didn't, but everyone of them looked our way. As we reached the bar my mother announced to everyone that we were celebrating my birthday and ordered us a round. Before i had time to sit my beer down there was another round from a buddy coming our way and two sips later a shot was sitting in front of me. Now, had the night continued at this pace very long, i would not be sitting here typing right now, luckily, that was the end of that bar and soon we were back in our limo and headed to the da nite. Second stop: We arrived at the da nite to see fimilar faces out side and a reaction of pride as they realized that they knew the ladies stepping out of the lengthy car parked beside them. While my mother decided to skip the first round at this stop, i used my left over drink ticket from weeks before to grab her a beer while i shot shit with my friend behind the bar. My first round at this stop was from a biker buddy that i'm not so buddyish with. We made this stop short and i grabbed my birthday beer to go and we headed back to the house. It was a short night, but with the rate drinks were appearing in front of me, that was probably for the best. Now i can officially say i've been in a limo and to make it better it was just for the heck of it, no special occasion, no reservations, no payment, and one hell of a good two hours :) thankyou mother.

Twenty4 and counting.

Another year gone by and I am enjoying just relaxing. Working has been so taxing tht I almost forgot I could do what ever I want today. So my plans: eat my free breakfast at Denny's go to work. Eat dinner. Drink a beer, probably at the da nite. Go to the figurative steak n shake. Go to sleep. And no working on the house tonight :). That's my favorite part... No house work tonight! Maybe I'll make myself some cupcakes :)

a not so new house.

The house remodel is coming along nicely.  I'm exhausted and i think i may be permanently dirty, but I'm excited for the finally product.   The carpets are all out, the old chimney blocks are out, the droopy ceilings are out.  We are doing ceilings this week, walls this weekend and floors next week which means we should be able to actually move in.  Right now we still have to get moving but it's more of moving into one single room until everything is set up.

Tear down complete, rebuild is go.

and speaking of rebuilding.  I ran into a friend from the past.  This kid from electrical class in high school now runs around Lowe's.  Super cool kid so I'm hoping we can be friends.   plus its always more fun shopping for home improvement when you know the employees.

a beautiful kind of color

undefined

I know that this is a cafe (check it : here) but it is definitely a beautiful inspiration to my home.   I love the chalk board.  I love the colored furniture.  I love the bar set up.  There will definitely be quite a bit of this in my own home.

The plan is to set up one of these common areas (with a small table and 2 chairs) in the entrance hall.
and i love the bar layout too.  really the entire post makes me smile :)

I think one of the big things i need to take a lesson from about this scheme is that i have to use a neutral palat... and this is white but still colorful!

one step at a time

We got all the carpeting ripped up in the new house and i'm stoked. .... the entire house is hard wood. Why you would cover up nice hard wood with ugly carpet - i have no idea! but it happened and now we have beautiful floors. I suppose the mud room, the kitchen, the bathroom and the entry way will hav tiling/ lamnet, but i'm still really excited about these floors. todays task: rip out all the nails from the old carpets and get the floors swept up. hopefully by tomorrow we can get a sander and the floors may be done by this weekend :) (at least the wood floors) that would be awesome because i am hoping to at least start moving in a week in half (first weekend in june. That would be beautiful if we were moved in copletely by my birthday :) I'm also ready to be done with the floors because i can't wait to get to painting. yay for paint. -absolutely, beemo

Yay for hammocks

I have a beautiful hammock that has been stored away due to lack of opportunity. I can't wait to pull it out at the new house..... And I love their bar too :)

mi abode v9: a sophisticated area for the pets

We haven't exactly decided which room or how we're going to place the dog kennels and all their stuff....  but after this picture i am looking forward to the challenge.

There are so many different opportunities.  The mudroom may have space.  The entry hall defently has space.  There is extra space in the living room and the dressing room... pretty much every space in the house has an opportunity.  I suppose it's just a matter of which will fit best and look prettiest.

moving shopping list.

There are a few things we had to purchase due to our move:  a riding lawn mower (we've never been responsible for the lawn before, and this lawn is HUGE), a washer, and a dryer.   we were somewhat concerned with what we were going to do because none of this is cheap and all of it is pretty well needed.  Now i have to thank my dad intensely.  Not only did he find us a riding lawn mower (from my gramps) but he may have us a dryer too!  Now all that is left is a washer and we can find a used one decently cheap,  plus we know plenty of people that will let us use theirs until we can find one :)

Thankyou father!!

mi abode v8. FUN living room.

This means color and unique decor :)  and since my new living room is so large that it will most likely be split with a dinning room.... i should have pleanty of oportunity :)

of course still i major diy fan....  that's normally what gives a room the most unique charisma :)

This bottom picture really grasps an entire style that i love.  It is soft and fun and welcoming... that is how i want my living room to appear.

*Picture no longer available*
I love this collection of decor that no one else would also have.
I love unique signs as wall decor.

Things in a living room that i love:  1. awesomely unique furniture.  2. wonderfully random framed art.  3. manaquinns (more in the dressing room, but anywhere really) or other unique objects.  4. banners, streamers, flags, ect...  color :).    5. wall stickers.  (quotes, but more so just artistic wall stickers).

bathroom objects i love

Con't from mi abode series

1. bathroom labels copied from old fashion public restrooms. 2. old fashioned scale. 3. chandaliers! (of course). 4. a rubber duckie in a classy bathroom :)

mi abode v7: fashionable laundry room/sewing room.

Growing up, our laundry room was always a mess, plus i've learned a few lessons in the years that i've been on my own.

I want a cute laundry room, just because laundry isn't always fun doesn't mean the space can't be (plus, a fun space makes the job a lot more enjoyable): splashes of color are a given.

It's not been decided if we're going to move the laundry room to the mudroom or leave it seperate, but open cabinets is a must (cabinet doors look old fashion and provide coverage for CLUTTER)... but i love the idea of sharing mudroom and laundry room in one space.

and finally, open shelving AND plenty of hanging space is a must!

all of these laundry rooms make me happy AND ambitious to get to my own laundry.

beautiful lighting

can i just put a chandalier in every room of the house?

mi abode v6: clean bathroom

When i say clean, i don't mean free of germs and picked up bathroom, i mean in terms of style...  clean cut, beautiful storage and just enough color that it only acts as an accent.

Beautifully displaced
necessities:

Wonderfully stored towels:

and just a splash of color:
= the perfect bathroom.

mi abode V5: a cozy bedroom

With this new house, the master bedroom is the same size as our walk in closet (wich is the spare bedroom).   Since we have a walk in closet, this is ok.  but i still want it to look amazing.  Each room has it's own description and i want the bedroom to be classy.  I'm just not sure how to do that with a room that has space for little more than the bed and the bed side tables.

Small Master Bedroom Small Master Bedroom (1)

Small Master Bedroom Small Master Bedroom (5)

I suppose bed & Breakfast is the look i want to go for in this small master bed room.  Clean, classy, and cozy (not small, cozy)

verse 4:  an eclectic kitchen

neutral colors required

When we first started talking over the agreements of our "lease" with out landlord, we were told that all paint colors had to be neutral.  I thought browns and off whites.  That terrified me that my entire house would be bland.... then i googled neutral colors after my husband told me my ideas were off...

... i'm now very excited that i can include colors in my paint scheme :)

relief!

mi abode V4: eclectic kitchen

First off, i want my kitchen to be a mix between an ice cream cafe and a fun bar.  Lots of color (of course).  and clean cut.  I want it to be super fun and yet super classy.  ... which reminds me of the new ice cream shop in town (chill).  It kind of grasps the style I'm looking for:

i think it's the color i love....  and here are some more images that capture my cooking heart:

and of course, i have to mention Rachael ray's kitchen.  I'm sure it's at the heart of every cook but mine too...   While her blue fridge might be her cooking icon, i love her semi see through cabinets, the brick walls, and her awesome back splash.... and of course her colorful appliances (yes!)

Into to mi abode:  ready.set.and move.
verse 2:  color

mi abode v.3: inspiration throughout the home

Color it's self is pretty inspiring and i've always done a pretty good job of decorating so that people keep their eyes moving in my home.... but i want people to leave my home truly inspired to live :)

Framed quotes, painted furniture, i want to move the soul.

oh so much space

The more i think about it, the more i google, the more i google, the more excited i get.  I can't wait to have a mudroom and a front entrance room and i ginorous living room and a walk in closet (the spare bedroom until we have kids.... then i don't know what i will do with all my clothes) and a large garage (with lots of windows:)) and a basement (so many places we can put the dogs)...  oh the space.  I didn't even mention the 3 car shed we have out back or all the yard space or the long drive leading to the house or the 2 sink bathroom with a large closet. Oh the space!   so much decorating.  i can't wait to get started.  My landlord closes on it this weekend so hopefully by next week i will be moving and have so much time to decorate (good thing i just quit coaching the swim team = more time to decorate)  yay!!

I can barely contain myself.

I think the plan is to clean the garage and move everything into there (it's the size of our entire house right now) and we can just sleep there until we get the bedroom done (it's not like the rest of the house has ac yet...)

Can you hear my excitment?  ahhhhh!  yay :)

new house: take 2

A few posts back i told you that my hunt for a new house is off... syke!  Steve and i stuck a deal with an acquaintance of his.  He bought a house for the land and now we're going to fix the house in exchange for rent :)  it's just what we wanted.  It's a cute 2br house with ample storage space. ... and a yard!  yes...  we get to fix up the house like we want and we don't have to pay rent for the next year.  Once it's over we still will get really decent rent.  I'm back on for planning my dream home.

ready or not.  Jump!

Taledaga

I saw the smoke before i smelt the burnt rubber..... it took me a min to realize it was wreckage time.

This past weekend i went to talaedaga and it kicked my butt.

5 monsters
6 cans of mountain dew
... still not enough caffeine.

I had a blast but was exaughsted.  I don't want to talk about the group i went with because they didn't meet my requirements for being a friend, but the trip its self was amazing.

making the news :)

Brittany Clarke, top, the swim school coordinator for the Saluki Swim Club, teaches a group of children how to swim with paddleboards Tuesday at the Pulliam Hall pool. The swim club is one of many groups that use the facilities. Clarke said she has been swimming at the pool since she was 7 years old. The SIU Board of Trustees announced a $1 million renovation plan for Pulliam Hall that includes removing the pool, but the proposal has yet to be voted on. Chris Zoeller | Daily Egyptian

Walk in closet

One day i will have a walk in closet...

Speaking of walk in closet:

Amazing..  That is all i have to say.

True forgiveness = good idea

Being married takes adjusting.  I knew that the man i would marry would not be someone i dated first.... which means going from single to married in a matter of months....  Now that i am finally adjusting to a life of commitment and loyalty, i can see how awesome my husband is.  He is absolutely my perfect man.

One of the biggest adjustments that i had to make (and would have had to eventually make anyway) is forgiving the people of my past.  There are lessons that you hear people talk about and i knew i would learn eventually,  being married forced me to learn the lesson of forgiveness because you can't really move on with your life until you can let go of the past.  By let go i mean forgive.   I don't mean say you forgive, i don't mean kind of forgive, i don't mean you forget .... to forget is NOT to forgive.  Looking at your ex and feeling better about his ugly mistress is NOT forgiveness,  pushing the person you thought to be your best friend out of your mind is not forgiveness,  The ONLY way to truly heal is to Truly forgive.  It's not something that happens right away.  It's not something that you can redefine.  It's not something you can justify or reason about.   It's a decision you make.  It is a satisfaction in yourself.  It is faith in a god bigger than yourself (because there is no way to achieve on your own).  The stump i have is knowing how horrible a person it and then letting go.  What is your response supposed to be when you hear their name in conversation?  What is the just response?
- I believe you can dislike a person even after forgiveness is really given.... forgiveness doesn't make them a better person, it just allows you to be at peace so that you can live.  The people of my past, i have finally learned to forgive.

With forgiveness, i have refound joy.  I refound trust and faith.  I have found life.

I am happy with my life just the way it is.  Even with my past, i am happy.

Not moving: quite yet.

Well, it turns out that we will not purchasing a house quite yet after all... we could find a hell hole somewhere, but we would both prefere to wait until we have the money to really invest... and i'm really not feeling inspired to actually MOVE all my just yet either :)

While my dream home ideas are now on hold ( I will resume my to do list when i, once again, begin looking at real houses).  I still have so many projects lined up for the little crib we're in now.

The worrior run i am supposed to be doing with amber might also fall through - her man was origionally the one registered but he cant do it so i was going to take his place, now we're not sure if they're going to let me run in his shoes (hahaha... run in his shoes)  Which is a total bum since Amber and i have the best costume idea ever : think mustache and neon.  yes.

However, we still have george and Charli to focus on (bday bash tommorrow.):  got bowtie numero uno in the mail today:) ha.  iT'sawesome.

Moving on:  my new vice:  ebay
It's crazy the kind of things you can find on there and not to mention the prices..... i've taken up donating plasma again to support my ebay addiction.  I bought George's and Charli's bows for thess than three bucks (together).
I purchased an awesome mustache ring for the race ( >1 dolla) and i stumbled across a  new pair of nerd frames, also >$1 !.  I'm sure i could spend a lot in a lil... but i LUVV it!  explanation mark now.

So no house, car on the way, to run or not to run.  bday bash rush, and i adore ebay.  my life is a yes.  ... oh, and screw politicians :)

In my last post, "ready.set.and move.", I started a list of requirements for my new home (to-do requirements of course)
Today, i begin the series of details on each requirements.

V1.  A welcoming front door:
I need color, I need flowers, I also want people to feel happy the very second they set eyes on my home.

:I like the fact that this is set up for porch sitting. .. i love outside.  (and did you know that  i love window boxes too?  I think they are wonderful)

:v2 is color... and why not add color to the outside too?  : )

The first thing i'm going to do:  Paint the front door (and then add flowers!)

pup cups.

I went to dq this past weekend, dogs in tow.   My husband and i both got ice cream cones and when we pulled around to the window to pay they asked if we'd like some pup cups for George and Charli.  Not knowing what they were talking about we said sure..... they came back with two little cups of ice cream for the puppies :)   how fun... charlie and george got their first ice cream cups....  defently like ice cream......

and the plastic cups they come in too :)
